Termomeccanica

Our stories makes us who we are.

1912

The Termomeccanica Group was founded in La Spezia in 1912 as "Società C." and later became "Termomeccanica Italiana S.p.A."

The company designed and built machinery for both fluids compressing and pumping in the industrial and marine sectors.

During and after World War I, machines were manufactured with all kinds of engines: mechanical, electric, and steam, for industry, the Merchant Navy, and the Italian Navy.

1934

In the 1930's

In 1934 the company became part of IRI, taking the name TERMOMECCANICA ITALIANA for the first time and becoming, from that moment on, a company with public capital.

1950

In the 1950's

Since the 1950s, the company has expanded its scope of activity to environmental plant engineering, first in civil and industrial wastewater treatment, and later in waste treatment and disposal and energy production from renewable sources.

1995

1995-96. Termomeccanica became a private company

On January 12th 1995, the Commissioner of EFIM in liquidation, Prof. Predieri, sold the company to a private group composed of Dr. Enso Papi, Banca Intesa (then Cariplo), Carispe, the Municipality of La Spezia and companies formed by managers and employees of the company. The presence of an employee representative on the Board of Directors was an example of original research to share the challenge of relaunching the company.

In 1996 the new holding decided to focus its activity on the design of the first range of oil-injected screw compressors. TM.C. has managed to develop an entire range of screw compressors that cover a wide spectrum of uses: from small ones for personal use (2,2 KW) up to the industrial ones (300 KW).

2019

The establishment of TM.I.C. Company

TM.I.C. srl - Termomeccanica Industrial Compressors was established on February 27th 2019. The Company is specialized in developing, manufacturing, testing and selling oil injected screw bare-shaft compressors for air and gas applications upto 1 MW. TMIC has developed its range of products for several types of gases and applications, entering in the Marine Certified field too.

2023

New Factory

In October 2023 was inaugurated a new production site in La Spezia, following a general expansion of the compressor group. In this factory are produced air and gas screw compressors capable of reaching up 1 MW of power. The factory is completely automatized.
